I ended up leaving out washers, because I wanted to be able to use the clutch allignemnt tool. Therefore, I had two choices leave out the washers or leave out the shims. When I installed mine I measured the amount of clearance, and the head of the flywheel bolts would have started hitting the clutch disk springs when the clutch disk was less than 1/2 worn. If the shop installed the washers and both shims, then the flywheel bolts and clutch disk springs are probably very close if not touching right now. It stock form there are two shims which allow the use of a clutch allignment tool, because the 6g72 does not have a pilot bearing. They also supply washers to use with the bolts. Now fidanza supplies longer bolts for the thicker flywheel. This moves the flywheel bolts closer to the clutch disk springs. not being able to change gears.Īlso, the center part of the fidanza flywheel is thicker than that of the stock unit. However, if someone were to somehow compress the spings on the pressure plate, then it would bolt up, but the clutch would not have any throw to it. I didn't realize it at first and the stock pressure plate bolts were not long enough to even begin threading into the flywheel. Spec screwed up and sent me a sR/T pressure plate for my GT (even though the eclipse part number was on it). If you want to use a fidanza flywheel for the eclipse, then you need to use a clutch for an eclipse. The eclipse GT uses a flat flywheel, and the Stratus R/T uses a stepped flywheel. I'm pretty sure you have a SERIOUS parts problem on your hands.
